Mind-Td Hype Videos

Client:

Neurocrine Biosciences

Role:

Creative Direction, Design, 2D Animation

To promote the relaunch of an educational website focused on tardive dyskinesia, our team was asked to create two short videos (30–40 seconds each) that made the platform feel fun, easy to use, and approachable.

Step 1: Script and Visual Development

I collaborated with a copywriter to shape clear, engaging scripts. I led with a visual-first approach by sharing creative references and helping shape the narrative flow to match how I envisioned the animation unfolding. Once approved, I sourced a music track to drive the pacing and directed a designer through the development of styleframes, ensuring the visuals aligned with the energy and educational goals of the project. At the same time, our video team filmed a doctor delivering the script, capturing multiple takes to integrate into the final animations.

Below are some styleframes from early on in the process.

Step 2: Storyboarding and Animatic

We developed a detailed storyboard that included written explanations of how each scene would animate. I then created an animatic, syncing the visuals with the music and voiceover to help the client visualize the timing, flow, and overall tone of the videos. This step ensured alignment before moving into full production.

Step 3: Animation and Sound Design

I executed the animation with After Effects as my tool of choice to create a smooth and engaging experience. In the final stage, I edited the voiceover and music in Premiere Pro and layered in sound effects to enhance key moments and transitions, resulting in a polished and cohesive final product.
